Cross Channel Photographic Mission (CCPM) was a bold initiative to commission some of Britain’s brightest talent to make a series of photographic works, leading up to the opening of the Channel Tunnel (May 1994). The result was a series of inquiring critiques on the way we lived in the late 80s and early 90s, a period of optimism of the European ideal.
Anne McNeill (curator at CCPM and founding director of Photoworks) will talk about its history, mission and commissions and why it transformed into Photoworks.
