Join documentary photographer and tutor Anders Birger on this one-day, practice-led workshop in documentary photography and visual storytelling. Anders will talk participants through his multifaceted body of work, as well as explaining the ideas behind his photography.
Anders Birger is a London based photographer and educator whose practice revolves around visual storytelling in documentary photography. Anders is interested in society and the impact we have on ourselves and each other. Instead of taking pictures in the situation, he takes pictures of the situation.
Participants will be challenged to reshape their visual language and break down their own personal barriers while out shooting street photography to a set brief. Each participant will have individual feedback and advice on how to move forward with their photography.
Anders will teach how to create powerful imagery in a documentary setting and how to approach people on the street.
There will be tips on editing your story, how to choose the right image, as well as how to create a strong series. Each participant at the end of the day will have a three-picture series ready to share with their peers.
Leica Cameras are available to use for the workshop (see participants notes below) and other cameras of the participants choice are also welcome. A Leica representative will also be available for any technical help and advice.
Lunch will be provided
