Family Photography Fun at Together The People with Photoworks

Explore the magic and wonder of photography through our experimental photography workshops for participants of all ages

No camera required

Come and create your very own Camera Obscura. See the festival through the lens of an ancient optical device and peer at the world from a different perspective.

Tell fantastic stories in simple shadow studio theatres using cardboard, light, colour and shadow puppetry to create digital images.

Or why not join Lumine’s Lab for a hands-on science and photography workshop for all the family. Discover how early photographic processes were used to allow the masses to view a previously unseen world. Become a photochemist and create beautiful photographic blueprints using Cyanotypes.

Photographers Joan Alexander, Lindsey Smith, and Charlotte Eliza King and Charlotte Wilson of Lumine’s Lab will guide you through the different activities.

Our City, How Do We Look?
You can also enjoy a sneak preview of new work from our commissioned photographers Chynna Guyat, Jennifer Jackson, Judith Ricketts and Sophia Wohleke.

These four photography students from the University of Brighton have been invited to photograph people and places across Brighton & Hove for Together The People, and Brighton Photo Biennial this October.
