Some say we’re sick is a project and act of resistance through existence. It’s demonstrating love, joy, community and pain, most of all the humility of it all. The state of transness at the moment is being eradicated, this is proof of our existence, those before us and all those after. I will never stop being transgender in the same way I will never stop loving those around me, experiencing joy and pain as long as I live. The tenderness displayed in these images is the biggest fight, perseverance and determination to live a gentle life despite it all.
Angus Fayers is a trans-masc photographer based in Bristol, using photography to explore his relationship with queerness. A uniquely beautiful experience that exists in a constant dialogue of joy and pain, harbouring community and creating small vibrant worlds. His work focuses on the body, community and T4T relationships. Addressing a distinct lack of representation of trans-masc people, his work aims to challenge the current state of trans rights across the world, and champion his history and those of many others through photography so that they can’t be eradicated.
