Photoworks is dedicated to enabling participation in photography, the most democratic medium of our contemporary visual culture. We do this by connecting outstanding artists with diverse audiences through an innovative range of projects, events and platforms. Collaboration is central to our work, making us an agile organisation, able to deliver projects at local, regional, national and international level.
We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment in terms of the use of raw materials, emissions to air and water, and waste generation, and seek to minimise this as far as is reasonably practicable.

Make efficient use of natural resources by conserving energy and water, minimising waste, and recycling where possible
Meet its duty of care requirements in relation to waste by ensuring the safe keeping, transportation and subsequent recovery or disposal of waste
Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst its customers and suppliers.
Source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution.
Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company.
Photoworks will review this policy on annual basis, taking account of any changes within legislation and our organisation, and other factors.
We will communicate this policy to all our employees and ensure that they are given appropriate training to raise awareness of environmental issues.

What are we doing?
Our aim is to make our website as accessible as possible to the widest range of visitors and customers. This means considering the specific needs of those with visual or physical impairments, learning difficulties and other forms of disability. In addition, it means having an understanding of different browser technologies. Our site has been produced to meet current best practices and guidelines.
To help us make the Photoworks website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user-friendly for everyone.

All websites through which a Public Authority offers services or information to the public need to comply with the Equalities Act 2010. The Equalities Act was introduced with the intention of comprehensively tackling the discrimination which many disabled people or others having ‘protected characteristics’ under the Act face. The Equalities Act replaces the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the duties imposed thereunder. Websites must be made accessible under the Act and comply with all relevant Codes of Practice or other Statutory Guidance which may be in force from time to time.
