Jiayue Yu was born and raised in Nanjing, China. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017 and she is now based in Shanghai. Her work begins with the observation of the individual’s inner world. Taking photography and 3D modelling as the main media, she uses images to write indescribable and multi-level emotions and states, exploring the social and generational factors behind them.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in cities such as New York, Padova, London, Berlin, Chicago, and Shanghai.
