Marcin Piekałkiewicz (b. 1987) is a researcher and visual artist working primarily with the still image. His practice is focused on deconstructing abstract economic processes which shape tangible realities of everyday life. Marcin often explores social and environmental effects of neoliberal capitalism combining observational strategies of documentary photography with aesthetic approaches of conceptual photography. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Italy, Poland, Russia, the UK, and the USA. Marcin holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Siena and is a recent graduate in MA Documentary Photography at the University of South Wales. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, and is currently based in The Netherlands.
