About the Jerwood/Photoworks Awards 2015
The Jerwood/Photoworks Awards are a biennial research and development opportunity supporting three talented individuals working with photography to create new work. They offer a £5,000 bursary with access to a production fund and a pool of international mentors, plus a subsequent national touring group exhibition. The Awards are a collaboration between Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Photoworks, supported by Arts Council England.
Mariama Attah is responsible for developing and programming Photoworks’ exhibitions and events, including the Brighton Photo Biennial. She completed her BA Photography at Wolverhampton University and gained an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester. Mariama has worked with a number of national and international artists and previous work roles include Exhibitions and Events Manager at Iniva and Assistant Officer, Visual Arts at Arts Council England.
