Call for submissions for new collaborative work Deadline: 28 July 2014 Co-commission with Photoworks, project fee available up to £2500
Following the success of their inaugural event in London last September, the Night Contact team are bringing the 2014 edition of their one night multimedia festival to the Brighton Photo Biennial in October.
Screening projections across indoor and outdoor spaces on a single night, Night Contact will showcase a range of still and moving works exploring ideas of collaboration, authorship and influence in relation to the photographic image and the screen.
Night Contact are partnering with Photoworks to offer a fee of up to £2,500 towards one new collaborative work to be the focus of Night Contact 2014.
Embracing the freedom and flexibility that the projection format allows, and the spirit of experimentation through collaboration, we are inviting proposals from collaborating artists to produce a work for projection with a base in the photographic.
A temporary project space will be installed in central Brighton which will house the work and will open for the duration of Night Contact. Proposals must consider the installation of the work and how they would utilise the space. The work will be singularly housed in a stand-alone project space.
We are keen to see proposals from artists that consider how working in collaboration can push individual practices in unexpected directions.
