We are excited to announce the launch of the open call for the Photography+ Emerging Talent Issue. We invite BA and MA graduates, as well as image-based artists, who are within the first five years of their practice and/or their graduation, to submit their work for the opportunity to be featured in the next issue of our online magazine, Photography+.
Photography+ is our online magazine that explores how photography intersects with everyday life. Each issue is themed and includes interviews, opinion pieces, essays and folios.
10 Awardees will receive the following
Feature in the next issue of Photography+, our online magazine.
A selected artist will receive a one-year Photoworks membership, along with mentoring from our curatorial and editorial teams.
Our printing partner, Spectrum Photographic, will award a selected artist a £200 printing voucher and an Instagram takeover on their account
- The 10 Awardees will be showcased at Kranj Foto Fest in an evening projection
Artists will be selected through this open call, and a jury panel will make the final selections. Find out more about our jury below.
How to enter
This international open call is free to enter. Please apply via Picter in the button below and submit up to 15 images from a single project, along with a statement of no more than 200 words.
Please note that you may only submit one project, multiple projects will not be accepted. You can submit any recent body of work.

Emma Bowkett, Director of Photography at the Financial Times
Emma Bowkett is Director of Photography at the Financial Times Weekend Magazine and an independent curator working on lens-based arts and contemporary visual culture. With a global vision, she works with established and emerging artists across classical and expanded photographic practices, supporting dialogue between different cultural perspectives and creative approaches.
Louise Fedotov-Clements, Director at Photoworks
Louise Fedotov-Clements, Director of Photoworks since 2023, where she leads the strategic vision and artistic direction of the organisation. She is the CoFounder/former Director FORMAT Festival and Artistic Director of QUAD. Previously National Curator of Contemporary Art, Forestry England, and currently Jury Chair of Earth Photo with the Royal Geographical Society, Forestry England and Parker Harris.
Fernanda Prado Verčič, Founding Director at Kranj Foto Fest
Fernanda Prado Verčič is the Founding Director of Kranj Foto Fest. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, she has been based in Slovenia, since 2011. She is actively engaged as a jury member, portfolio reviewer, and nominator for major photography festivals and institutions. She is also the Artistic Director of OKO Photo Festival Bohinj, held in Slovenia’s Triglav National Park, created in 2025.
Maryam Wahid, Head of Programs and Outreach for Tasweer Photography Festival
Maryam Wahid is a British photographer, creative consultant, and Head of Programs and Outreach for Tasweer Photography Festival by Qatar Museums. Her image-based practice focuses on visual storytelling, exploring themes of identity, migration, memory, and belonging. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at The Photographers’ Gallery and Midlands Arts Centre.
Amin Yousefi, Assistant Curator and Editor of Photography+
Amin Yousefi is a curator, image-based artist, and writer based in London. He is Assistant Curator and Editor of Photography+ at Photoworks. His work engages photography and the archive through their social and political dimensions, with a focus on how images function as forms of instruction that shape bodies, gestures, and ways of seeing.
