Featuring folios by Flash Lab, Gabriel Orozco, Andy O’Connell and Viviane Sassen, Issue 14 of Photoworks opens a rich dialogue between different photographic genres and the sculptural potential of the everyday. David Campany views projects taking photographic production and the photographic studio as their subject. As a major touring exhibition of Eadweard Muybridge’s work opens in Washington, Ian Jeffrey considers his pioneering work, alongside that of his contemporary Etienne-Jules Marey. We interview Tate’s recently appointed Curator of Photographs, Simon Baker. Joachim Schmid surveys the current boom in self-publishing, and book reviews focus on self-published titles by Mike Mandel and Chantal Zakari, Rob Hornstra and Derek Ridgers. Folio texts by Ben Burbridge, Jason Evans, Joanna Lowry and Gordon MacDonald complete the issue.
