Phoenix Art Space, Brighton
Join Photoworks for What’s Outside? a free programme of photographic workshops for young people aged 12 – 15 led by photographers Sutirtha Chatterjee and Phoebe Wingrove.
This is a photography club specifically supporting young people facing disadvantage, who want to explore photography and would benefit from this opportunity.
No previous experience or specialist kit is required. We provide everything you need. Workshops are designed to be playful and fun, with a focus on creativity and skills development.
If you would like to chat about any aspect of this in confidence ahead of taking part, please get in touch.
What to expect
This workshop programme invites young people to creatively visualise sense of place through Tarner Park – a community led outdoor space. Together we’ll explore new photographic techniques taking inspiration from the relationship between the rural landscape and community amongst Brighton.
There will be a strong focus on youth voice throughout the programme, using photography as a tool to be curious, visualising how they see and interact with the outdoors.
Participants will develop practical and creative skills, collaborating with working artists and young people to showcase their thoughts, ideas, stories, and interests that emerge throughout the programme.
Share your work and help others to get involved
Together we will also take part in exhibiting the work at Photoworks Festival (2nd – 31st October), Tarner Festival (19th September) and Phoenix Art Space.
Please register by Sunday 17th May 11.59pm.
