Photoworks is a charitable organisation funded by Arts Council England and the generosity of our supporters. We rely on the support of those who share our passion for photography and want to help us to support artists to make new work that is relevant to our contemporary society and that often brings communities together.
For over 20 years, we have produced some of the most talked about and acclaimed photographic and artistic projects of the past two decades.
We are dedicated to enabling participation in photography, the most democratic medium of our contemporary visual culture. We do this by connecting outstanding artists with diverse audiences through major cultural projects including the Brighton Photo Biennial and Jerwood/Photoworks Awards. We commission innovative work, develop artistic talent and work with communities on our learning and engagement projects.
We have been generously supported by our sponsors, funders and supporters. We would like to say thank you to all of our members, sponsors, funders and patrons for their generosity.
