Work created by young people for Brighton Photo Biennial 2014 is touring The UK

41 artworks from over 200 young artists feature in Generation ART: Young Artists on Tour, launched at Turner Contemporary in June 2015 with an eclectic mix of artwork, from painting and ceramics, to film and photography.

Generation ART tours to New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester 16 January – 6 March 2016 , and Quay Arts Isle of Wight, Spring 2016.

It includes another chance to see work from Looking in the Family Album a project created for Art at Work led by Photoworks and Lighthouse in partnership with the Aldridge Foundation and funded by Arts Council England that showed during October 2014 for Brighton Photo Biennial.

Year 10 & 11 students from the Brighton and Portslade Aldridge Community Academies collaborated with three artists (James Casey, Alex Buckley and Marysa Dowling) to create their own staged family albums. In facilitated workshops and inspired by artists such as Cindy Sherman and Thomas Demand the students produced giant backdrops and costumes to construct their fantasy group portraits.

Above is a film made at the exhibition’s launch at Turner Contemporary by Axisweb.
