Katy Hundertmark is a Scottish-German artist and editor currently based in Amsterdam (NL) and working for Foam Magazine. Her approach towards photography has a strong connection to theatre production and employs performance as a way of inhabiting the photographic space.
In her early work the staged self-portrait represented the main method to capture the characters she performed for the camera, however over the past years she has developed a specific interest in the intersection between photography, sculpture and new ways of translating images into space. Hundertmark’s work has been exhibited at venues such as Streetlevel Photoworks Glasgow (UK), Stills Edinburgh (UK), Seenfifteen London (UK), Macro Testaccio Rome (ITA) and most recently at Shrine Gallery NYC (US). Her work and writing has been featured in magazines like Quottom Magazine, Notes Journal and Studies in Photography. In early 2020 Hundertmark received the Creative Scotland Emerging Artist Bursary followed by a Creative Scotland Research and Development Bursary in 2021.
