This week we welcome Berlin based Paul Hutchinson to our Instagram Takeover.

Paul Hutchinson (*1987 in Berlin, German / Irish citizen) studied at University of the Arts Berlin and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London. In his photographic practice and in his writing he considers phenomena of modern day urban life such as youth culture, social housing architecture and conditions of social mobility. Oscillating between moments of intimacy and fragility, inner city roughness and political statement, he always understands his artistic work as an attempt to create a contemporary and individual vision of the times we live in.

Amongst others, Paul Hutchinson has been awarded grants and prizes from Deutsche Bank, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and University of the Arts Berlin. He is the recipient of the Eberhard Roters-Fellowship for Young Art 2016, awarded biannually by Stiftung Preussische Seehandlung in cooperation with Berlinische Galerie. So far he has published four monographs. After spells in New York, London and Rio de Janeiro he now lives and works again in his hometown, Berlin.
