Often working with chemically unstable materials under specific conditions, his site-situated works propose to destabilise the audiences relationship to spectatorship, which has traditionally been seen as aesthetically and politically passive.
Ryan completed his MA in Photography in 2013 from the Royal College of Art, London, and has subsequently exhibited nationally and internationally in both group and solo exhibitions.
