Photoworks Director, Celia Davies, is joining an impressive line-up of industry experts at a two-day event where emerging photographers can network and, in an informal workshop environment, learn how to advance their careers.

Offspring Photo Meet returns to East London Friday and Saturday 30-31 October gathering together some of the country’s top photography experts to impart their wisdom and advice to an audience of professional and aspiring image-makers.

Art world experts include: Shoair Mavlian (Tate), Karen McQuaid (The Photographers’ Gallery), Marisa Bellani (Roman Road), Brandei Estes (Sotheby’s), Chris Littlewood (Flowers Gallery), Federica Chiocchetti (V&A), Matt Martin (Doomed Gallery/Photocopy Club), Celia Davies (Photoworks/Brighton Photo Biennial), Zelda Cheatle (independent curator), Helen Trompeter (National Portrait Gallery), Tim Clark (Media Space/1000 words).

The book publishing industry is represented by: Andrew Sanigar and Johanna Neurath (both Thames & Hudson), Bruno Ceschel (Self Publish, Be Happy), Dewi Lewis (Dewi Lewis Publishing), Hannah Watson (Trolley Books/TJ Boulting Gallery), Harry Hardie (Here Press), Lewis Chaplin (Loose Joints) and Martin Usborne (Hoxton Mini Press).

From the editorial market: Emma Bowkett and Josh Lustig (both FT Weekend Magazine), Kate Edwards
(Guardian Weekend), Mike Trow (British Vogue), Tony Bell (The Observer) and Lauren Winfield (Bloomberg Businessweek). And from the advertising industry, Kirstie Johnstone (AMV BBDO), Daniel Moorey (adamandeveDDB), Aine Donovan (BBH/They Made This) and Katerina Gharraph (Bartle Bogle Hegarty).

Photographers include: Daniel Stier, Mimi Mollica, Pal Hansen and Will Sanders, while other leading figures from the industry, such as Simon Bainbridge (British Journal of Photography), Monica Allende (freelance picture editor/curator/educator), Frede Spencer (Twenty Twenty agency), Shannon Ghannam (Reuters), and Anne Braybon (independent creative director), Max Houghton (writer/curator/academic), Eleanor Macnair (freelance PR), and three senior staff from Magnum Photos – Anne Bourgeois-Vignon, Fiona Rogers and Emily Graham.

 

Tickets to attend are priced £250 for two days fully inclusive of four portfolio
reviews per day, all talks and events. A one-day ticket is priced £160
