A unique forum for British and international photography and visual culture, Photoworks showcases established artists, and emerging talents, reviews books and exhibitions and publishes new critical writing on photography.
Edited by Gordon MacDonald, Photoworks launched in 2003 with a design by Smith + Kaye. This first issue features a survey of the ‘summer of photography’ in London, 2003, with reviews of exhibitions by Cindy Sherman, Thomas Ruff, Phillip Lorca DiCorcia and Wolfgang Tillmans, an interview of Jeremy Millar regarding the first Brighton Photo Biennial, as well as new work by Phil Collins, James Deavin, Wen Hao Yu, Trish Morrissey, Danny Treacy and Bettina Von Zwehl.
