Young Skyscapes is the result of a partnership between Photoworks and the National Trust with nine primary schools in West Sussex. Over 360 primary aged children and their teachers explored the sky, sunlight, reflections, shadows and clouds through a range of experimental and playful photography based processes with artist Annis Joslin.
The project has been inspired by Skyscape an exhibition at Petworth House National Trust property in West Sussex in the Spring of 2020 just before lockdown. Skyscape celebrated five hundred years of artists’ fascination with the sky showcasing nearly forty objects from the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford including paintings and drawings by Dürer, Rembrandt, Palmer, Ruskin and Nash.
Photoworks would like to thank the pupils and teachers from Northchapel Community Primary, Camelsdale Primary, Plaistow and Kirdford Primary, Slindon C of E Primary, Petworth C of E Primary, Easebourne C of E Primary, Loxwood Primary, Boxgrove C of E Primary and St Mary’s C of E Primary schools.
