Saturday 12 September 2015 Science Museum, London A one-day symposium examining the effects of early scientific photography on modern and contemporary art.

Early scientific ‘photographs of the invisible’ – from x-ray to photomicrography, and motion studies to pictures of electrical charges – have had a profound effect on the development of modern and contemporary art.

Organised by Ben Burbridge, Co-Editor of Photoworks Annual, this one-day symposium brings together world-renowned artists, curators and academics, and coincides with the final days of Revelations: Experiments in Photography at Media Space, London, curated by Ben Burbridge and Greg Hobson.

Beyond Vision: Photography, Art & Science will examine the importance of early scientific photography for the creative arts and the ways in which its meanings have shifted across time and space.
