Photoworks is pleased to announce Nienke Coers and Echo Callaghan have been selected as our Writers in Residence in 2026! Nienke and Echo will be working closely with Amin Yousefi, our Photography+ Editor and Assistant Curator, writing and producing the four upcoming issues of Photography+, our online magazine.

Nienke Coers is a Rotterdam-based curator and researcher whose work explores the intersections of photography, migration, and diasporic identity. She contributes as a writer and editor to various research platforms and magazines, including Trigger, published by FOMU Antwerp, and has worked as a researcher with institutions such as Fotomuseum Den Haag and SEA Foundation.

 

Echo Callaghan is an interdisciplinary writer and interpretation specialist who has worked across a number of high-profile institutions in the UK and abroad. She has written for a range of publications and was recently shortlisted for publication by 11th edition of the International Award for Art Criticism for her work on the artist Donald Rodney. Her interests are in the depiction of embodiment and the relationship between the construction of identity and the body.
