Lecture Room 309
Martin Seeds in conversation with Diane Smyth
Diane Symth and Martin Seeds will discuss the development of Seeds’ first photobook MASKS. The contents of the book, released this year, began life as a large-scale gallery installation. Transitioning the work from gallery to book form will be discussed as well as the experience of making a first photo book.
Martin Seeds
Drawing from his experience of growing up in Northern Ireland, Martin Seeds practice explores the conflicting experiences of identity, history, and culture. Working with appropriated imagery, photography and sculpture, his artistic investigations examine the consequences of conflict. Personal narratives, the relationship to place, politics, and trauma are themes that recur and interconnect work.
