‘Collaborate’ at Free Range

An exhibition celebrating some of the many artists we’ve collaborated with and three days of free events centered around collaboration, connecting artists and knowledge sharing.

Collaboration is central to Photoworks’ way of working. We collaborate with artists, working together on exhibitions, events and through our digital platforms.
At Free Range we will present an exhibition celebrating some of the many artists we’ve collaborated with and run three days of free events centered around collaboration, connecting artists and knowledge sharing.
Exhibition opening times
Thursday 28 June: 6 – 9pm
Friday 29 June: 10am – 7pm
Saturday 30 June: 10am – 7pm
Sunday 1 July: 10am – 7pm
All events are free, however, participants are required to book their places in person at Free Range. First come first served, registration opens 6pm Thursday 28 June.
Events are open to all and of particular interest to recent photography graduates, whether exhibiting at Free Range or not.
Thursday Launch Evening
6-9pm – Join us to mark the opening of our exhibition and meet the Photoworks Team
Friday Talks and Workshops
12.30pm – Introduction to Jerwood/Photoworks Awards
Shoair Mavlian, Director of Photoworks, discusses our talent awards, the vision behind them and upcoming opportunities.
1pm – Demystifying the Application process
Natasha Caruana, artist and lecturer presents a crash course in how to approach awards applications.
3 – 3.30pm – Spectrum Photographic
Spectrum Photographic Director, Hazel Watts and Master Printer, Andy Ford, discuss different methods of printing and presenting work.
Saturday and Sunday Reviews
12.30 – 1.30pm – Peer to Peer Graduate Speed Dating
Want to find like-minded collaborators, but don’t know where to start? Our speed dating offers an informal opportunity to discuss your ideas and potential collaborations with practitioners you may not otherwise meet.
1.30 – 2.30pm – Photoworks Walk & Talk
Free Range exhibitors can invite a Photoworks Curator to visit their exhibition and discuss their work in situ.
2.30 – 3.30pm – Photoworks One to One Advice Surgery
The Photoworks Team is a diverse bunch and can offer expert advice on aspects of non-commercial practice such as curating, community engagement, funding, marketing and social media.
